Art Retreats and Outdoor Sketching – why both are crucial to my work.

I am delighted to have been asked to do a talk about the experiences and value gained from my art retreat in Brisons Veor in Cape Cornwall in 2021 plus Cill Rialaig in Ireland and why sketching outdoors has been an essential element in my artistic development over the years.
I aim to share my experiences and views about Art Retreats, why I think they are so important to artists, different kinds of retreats, how to manage them, discuss how could members create their own retreats and why outdoor sketching seems to be behind every important stage of my developement as an artist.

Directions: There is parking within the school. As you drive in, (it’s a one way system), you may want to park up along the drive or near the first main building. The walk or drive to the right, past the tennis court and the hall is to your left. When you leave, best to turn left on London road to the roundabout.
